Home Energy Assistance Program/HEAP

• Processes applications for financial assistance for low-income individuals through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), which offers various benefit components.

Regular benefit: assists low-income individuals with the cost of heating their homes. Open November 1, 2022.
Emergency benefit: assists low-income individuals facing a heat or heat-related energy emergency.
Heating equipment repair or replacement: assists low-income homeowners repair/replace their furnaces. Heating Equipment Repair or Replacement applications.
Heating Equipment Tune-Up: provides equipment inspections and cleanings before the start of the heating season. Heating Equipment Tune-Up Component Applications.
Cooling Assistance: provides cooling assistance service to HEAP-eligible households, including individuals with a documented medical condition exacerbated by heat.

Eligibility: Income eligibility guidelines apply. For cooling assistance, must qualify for HEAP and have at least one family member with a medical condition made worse by heat.

SNAP recipient households: Call worker for assistance. Temporary assistance households: Call worker assigned to household. All other households: Call for information. Emergency benefits: Must have already received a regular HEAP benefit.
