thru: New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division Mental Hygiene Legal Service

Provides legal services, advice, and assistance to persons receiving care or alleged to be in need of care at inpatient and community-based facilities for the mentally disabled.

Provides advice and representation regarding standards of care and other matters affecting the civil liberties of persons receiving care at facilities for the mentally disabled.

Eligibility: Patients admitted to psychiatric hospitals or residents admitted to developmental center, patients or residents residing in OMH or OPWDD licensed or operated group homes and community residences.

Application Process: Call for information.

Required Documentation: None.

Fees: None.

Coverage Note: Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates Counties.
