• Distributes donated and purchased food and other items to member charitable organizations serving the needy, children, seniors, and ill. Does not provide direct food assistance or services for individuals. Not an emergency food pantry or soup kitchen.
• Provides Food Safety Training.
• Advocates for hunger issues.
• Offers Foodlink Career Fellowship - A year-long culinary training program to secure a middle-skills job.
• Coordinates fundraising events.
• Creates publications, newsletters, and brochures. - Member of Feeding America and also a member of the Emergency Services and Family Stabilization Network.
• Offers volunteer opportunities to community members. Volunteers are needed to sort, inspect, and pack non-perishable food items before they are distributed. They may also be asked to assist with other special projects in the Distribution Center.
- Requires 10 Volunteers
- 3-hour shifts
- 9 shifts a week are available to choose from
- Training is provided onsite
- Accessibility accommodations can sometimes be offered on a needs basis. Please inquire about them prior to the volunteer coming in
- Can be used to fulfill ABAWD (Able-bodied without dependents) hours
Language Access
Eligibility: Member agency must be a Foodlink member agency, a direct food provider to the ill, children, and/or needy, 501(c)3 organization. Volunteer Opportunity: Age 13 and older, ability to perform physical work, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 25-50lbs. For youth under 16, a chaperon must register, accompany, and participate in the volunteer project.
