thru: Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates Inc.

Provides no cost literacy tutoring to adults by trained volunteers. 

Assists English speakers looking to improve reading, writing, math or science literacy or pursue their GED. 

Assists foreign-language speakers seeking to learn English: comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. Helps those interested prepare for US Citizenship exam. 

Structures tutoring primarily in a one-to-one setting at a time and place convenient for both learner and tutor.
  • Group sessions offered as needed for math, science, conversation/pronunciation and a book group.
  • Tutors work with individuals until they have met their goals.

Eligibility: Ages 16 years and older.

Application Process: Call office.

Required Documentation: Call for information.

Fees: No fee for services.

Coverage Note: Ontario and Yates Counties.
