Provides post-adoption and family support services to adoptive families or families who have been granted legal guardianship of a child. Includes: 
  • Information and assistance with referral to services, including 24/7 crisis management. 
  • Individual advocacy and support. 
  • Monthly support groups and family-focused social/recreational programs. 
  • Parent education groups, trauma-informed trainings, and family-oriented workshops. 
    • Provided in community locations including libraries, community recreation centers, and other family-friendly sites.
  • Adoption competency training for parents and professionals. 
    • Will meet with families in the community, in their homes, and at Hillside locations.

Eligibility: Adoptive families and families who have legal guardianship of a child.

Application Process: Call for information.

Required Documentation: Documentation of adoption or legal guardianship.

Fees: No fee for service.

Coverage Note: Allegany, Broome, Chemung, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Onondaga, Steuben, Tioga, and Wyoming counties.

Cultural Competency: Cultural competency, diversity, equity, and inclusion training for staff

Languages: - Staff provides in-person interpreter, Language line, Materials/literature in language indicated
