Mediation and Civil Legal Services

(Program)

Effective March 17, the Center cancelled in-person services (including mediations, trainings, and meetings). All sessions will be rescheduled for dates on or after May 4, 2020. Currently they are limiting public access to all offices, restricting in-person services, and transitioning to virtual operations. Case management intake and scheduling is still being done via phone, email, and text messaging.

* Provides confidential mediation and conflict resolution services.
  • Divorce mediation and Arbitration
  • Child custody and visitation
  • Community mediation for quality of life issues, e.g. neighbor disputes, small claims, contractor, homeowner, landlord/tenant
  • Restorative justice
  • Special education mediation
  • Vehicle lemon law
  • Commercial arbitration
  • Training - Conflict resolution, employee disputes, peer mediation for schools
  • Police/Community Relations; Civilian oversight of law enforcement

Eligibility: Anyone who has a conflict, or dispute. Willingness to participate in a confidential conversation process facilitated by professionally trained impartial mediator. Anyone interested in receiving training in dispute resolution, team building, mediation.

Application Process: Call office to set up consultation session. Referrals through courts, police, community agencies or self-referral.

Required Documentation: Call for information.

Fees: If any, nominal fees. Sliding scale based on income. Third Party Insurance.

Monroe, Cayuga, Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates Counties.

Services are confidential and include Custody & Visitation, Divorce Mediation & Divorce Arbitration, Special Education, ACCES-VR, Small Claims in the following counties: Cayuga, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates.
