WXXI Reachout Radio Program

- Service can be accessed using special radio receivers, provided free of charge on a loan basis, within the 10-county coverage area around Greater Rochester. The service is also available as a web stream at http://reachoutradio.org/. Service also available via the Sero (formerly iBlink radio) app for iPhone and Android phones or on any internet-ready accessible device.
Eligibility: Print-disabled. Visually impaired or physically unable to turn pages. Certification of need by physician or social worker. Must live in the broadcast area. Volunteers must audition.
Application Process: Call for application. Volunteers: call for audition. Go on-line for either at http://reachoutradio.org/.
Required Documentation: Certification of Disability by physician, medical professional, social worker, mobility specialist, other professional that can verify disability. Registration with the New York State Commission for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, or the New York State Talking Book program.
Fees: No fee for service. Donations accepted but not required.
Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, Yates, and parts of Allegany and Steuben Counties.
