Eligibility: WIC income guidelines apply, resident of Monroe County with child under the age of 18 years in need of a child safety seat.

Application Process: Case manager or social service agency needs to verify income requirements and complete referral paperwork. Once referral is sent into the Office of Traffic Safety, the client can call the office to set up an appointment for car seat education and to receive the car seat.

Required Documentation: Proof of address, proof of income.

Fees: No fee for services.

Monroe County Department of Public Safety provides public safety information and services in such areas as emergency response, drug use disorders, traffic safety, crime forensics lab, public safety radio communications, weights and measures, fire and EMS bureaus, Monroe county probation department, and others.
