* Provides GED/High School Equivalency programs, academic education and supports, English for speakers of other languages programs, and college preparation programs.

  • Prepares students to take the GED examination
    • Program instruction and class structure is progress-and project based, and also relevant to student achievement levels
    • Programs can accommodate a wide range of student academic needs
    • Program counselors on site for support, career services assist with placement activities

    Eligibility: 18 years or older and meet income and residency requirements. Entrance testing. Additional requirements vary, and are specific to each program.

    Application Process: Applications online.

    Required Documentation: Proof of income, New York State residency, photo identification, I-94 or Green Card (if applicant is not a citizen of the United States). Program Eligibility: Eligibility documentation varies for each program. Refer to REOC website or contact REOC Admissions for specific documentation requirements.

    Fees: No fee for services.

    The Rochester Educational Opportunity Center provides career training and academic programs for adults. Programs are tuition-free and based on eligibility. Supports are provided through academic and career tutoring, community outreach and programming, ATTAIN computer certifications and programs, GED preparation and testing, college preparation, college entrance assistance, ESOL programs, career services, and program and support counseling for students.
