* Offers shelter and placement service for homeless and stray animals.

* Offers low cost spay/neuter services of owned dogs and cats to low-income and qualified individuals.

* Provides temporary care (30 days) of animals for qualifying pet owners.
  • Pet owners receiving support/social services, or leaving a domestic violence situation, veteran or active military duty, victim of house-fire or other disaster and working with the Red Cross.
* Offers a variety of humane education programs that include lessons and activities that foster an appreciation for animal companions.

* Lost and found pet listings, holds stray pets.

* Provides pet food on an emergency basis if stocked from donations

* Offers a Pet Behavior Help Line volunteers respond within 24 hours.

* Provides dog and cat food to local food cupboards.

* Provides low cost spay/neuter services for feral (stray, un-owned, non-domesticated) cats.

 

Eligibility: City of Rochester residents: Contact Rochester Animal Service. All others vary according to program. Call for information.
