* Helps with many things, such as:

  • Setting goals.
  • Money help, SNAP, rental aid, and Social Security.
  • Training for jobs and finding jobs.
  • Health care, Medicaid, and finding doctors.
  • Helping with housing, finding a home and speaking to landlords.
  • Becoming a US citizen.
  • Legal help, going to court and speaking to lawyers.
  • Wellness Assistance.
  • Assistance reading and understanding important papers.

Eligibility: Deaf refugees, asylum-seekers, immigrants, and those from US territories and family members.

Application Process: Walk in, call, or visit website for more information. To guarantee availability, make an appointment.

Required Documentation: All papers relevant to status in this country such as: ID, Social Security number, Visa, etc.

Fees: No fee for services.

Coverage Note: Monroe County.

Languages: American Sign Language - Staff provides service in language offered, Staff provides in-person interpreter, Materials/literature in language indicated

 

Deaf Refugee Advocacy, Inc. (DRA) helps Deaf refugees, immigrants, and people seeking asylum, along with their families. They offer services like education and case management. DRA also ensures they can communicate well and get the help they need from other organizations in the community.
