* Provides immediate emergency assistance to households in crisis including:

  • Food bags. 
  • Personal Hygiene Bag. 
  • Prescription Assistance. 
  • Bus Passes (when available). 
  • Stranded Traveler Assistance. 
  • Clothing Assistance. 
  • Diaper Assistance. 
  • Vouchers to area supermarkets for food and personal items. 
  • Advocacy and referrals to outside agencies. 
  • Crisis assessment and management. 
  • Bilingual Services. 
  • Registration for Salvation Army Programs (Project Bundle Up, Long Point Camp, Christmas Assistance, etc.)

Eligibility: Programs: ages 18 years and over. Food vouchers: must have no income, including public assistance.

Application Process: Call or visit office. Interviews done on a first come, first served basis for most services.

Required Documentation: Picture ID or 3 official documents with name on them.

Fees: Call for information.

Coverage Note: Monroe County.

The Salvation Army offers emergency assistance and referrals, homeless shelters/case management services, after school, summer day camp, and overnight camp programs for youth, rehabilitation services for chemically dependent adults, Holiday/Christmas assistance, disaster services, three corps(churches) with various spiritual and community services.
