Face to face interviews currently not required. Individuals who appear at either DSS office will be asked to drop off their application/documentation and leave a phone number where they can be reached for an interview. Staff will continue to be on-site or working from home to process benefits.

  • SNAP (Food stamps).
  • Medicaid.
  • Rent payment assistance.
  • Benefit information can be found at www.mybenefits.ny.gov.

* Offers emergency housing for individuals and families.

* Provides assistance to teenage runaways.

* Provides fraud investigation services.

  • Reviews information and investigates complaints of welfare fraud.



Eligibility: Resident of Ontario County. Assistance to teenage runaways: Ages 16 and over. Must meet certain eligibility guidelines. Varies according to program. Call for information.
