Programs that inoculate adults to prevent them from contracting preventable diseases, including the recommended vaccination for people who were not adequately immunized as children, booster shots to prevent the occurence of childhood illness in adolescence and adulthood, recommended immunizations for people who are or could become pregnant and older adults, as well as workers in specific risk situations, immunocompromised people or people with chronic diseases. Recommended immunizations and schedules vary from one jurisdiction to another.
