The program aims to assist individuals with typically one-time and short-term issues. Otherwise individuals are referred to other organizations more capable of supporting longer term issues. The In Home Visitation Program only serves residents in Zip Codes 14424, 14425, 14443, and 14469.

Modest Needs Foundation

Eligibility: 18 years of age and older.
Legal resident of the United States or Canada.
Intend to apply for assistance either for self or for a person living in the home.
Household has at least one active bank account OR has filed a Federal Tax Return within in the past two years;
Regular access to a computer and the Internet and can check your email the Modest Needs website daily for the entire time that your application is active.
Ability to access a scanner or a fax machine for long enough to scan and upload or fax the documentation to support the application that Modest Needs will request from during the grant application process;
If renting (rather than owning) a home, the household must have a legal lease that the landlord and a member of the household both have signed. This lease must show the monthly cost of the rental, whether or not the applicant pays all of this amount themselves;
Household passes Modest Needs Foundation 'income' and 'employment' tests, which are both explained in the application process.
