Eligible candidates may apply for assistance one time within 12 months. Resident of area served. Must have exhausted the Department of Social Services, other agencies, and church funds.

Any service member who was active, deployed or wounded in the last 7 years is eligible for assistance, with proper documentation. Please see attachment in resource for eligibility criteria.

Must be a migrant or seasonal farm worker. Emergency one-time assistance only.

Call for information for specific services. Lifeline customers: Must receive some form of public assistance. SSI, HEAP recipients are also qualified.

Must be a resident of area served. Eligibility is based on family size and annual income. For cooling assistance, must qualify for HEAP and have at least one family member with a medical condition made worse by heat.

Applicants must exhaust at least one source of HEAP before applying and have an active account with National Grid. This grant is available to residents of upstate counties and can be received once per heating season.

Applicants must have an active account with either NYSEG or RG&E, meet the HEAP income guideline, have an active disconnect notice, and exhausted all other assistance programs, such as HEAP, food stamps, Medicaid and local or county emergency aid. Active military and well-discharged veterans, regardless of income, can apply. This grant can be received once every 12 months.

Eligibility for customers who are active duty military personnel and veterans: Active duty military personnel and well-discharged (honorary or general) do NOT have to meet income guidelines, however there must be an active disconnect notice. The account may be in the spouse's​/partner's name. The military member or veteran does not have to reside in the household, however, the spouse​/partner must.

There is no income eligibility requirement, however a detailed accounting of all income sources and current expenditures is taken. The program aims to assist individuals with typically one-time and short-term issues. Otherwise individuals are referred to other organizations more capable of supporting longer term issues. The In Home Visitation Program only serves residents in Zip Codes 14424, 14425, 14443, and 14469.
