Community Development

Community Development provides multiple services to enhance the social, educational, physical wellbeing of people, as well as improving business structures in the area. Services that are included are:  Works to increase agency capacity to provide services for new American/Immigrant/Refugee populations.  Improves the business corridors within Rochester.  Reduces vaccine hesitancy and increasing vaccination rates amongst communities of colors.  Aides in reunitification of families and social reintegration of youth either currently in or emerging from juvenile facility.  Provides cancer educational outreaches to communities of color.

Northern Rivers provides help to those who struggle with abuse, neglect, trauma, mental health challenges, educational difficulties, career training, employment, and service navigation through a continuum of home-, clinic-, school-, and community-based, vocational rehabilitative, supported employment, and senior-supporting programs that provide person-centered, trauma-informed solutions to ensure clients live their best lives.

Mobile Crisis Services @ Northern Rivers Family of Services - Administration Building

Assist adults, children, adolescents, and their families in resolving emotional and behavioral health crisis situations. Services include:  Consultation and information.  Clinical assessment.  Crisis intervention and stabilization.  Referrals and linkages to ongoing community resources.  Case management follow-up.  Family or peer advocacy and support.

Machining Fundamentals @ CWD Continuing Education Office - WEMOCO CTE Center

Provides a 10-week certificate course learning the basics of machining and the fundamental skills to advance your career. Evening course covers blueprint reading, machine shop math, drilling, tapping, and reaming. Receive industry-recognized OSHA-10 certificate and gain experience operating the Lathe, Mill, and basics of CNC Machining. Hybrid learning model that blends skill-building in the machine lab with remote learning hours that can count toward an apprenticeship. Course was created to enable employment during the day while completing this program.
