Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

* Administers the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps).

* Assistance available online with eligibility requirements and application processes by visiting www.mybenefits.ny.gov

* Providing emergency SNAP benefits to households with children who would otherwise receive free or reduced-price meals if not for their schools being closed due to COVID-19 response.

Eligibility: Call, walk-in, or go online for eligibility requirements.

Application Process: Apply in person at 691 St. Paul Street, go to www.mybenefits.ny.gov to apply online, or can be mailed by calling the appointment line. A screening will occur after the application has been reviewed to determine eligibility. If eligible, expedited food stamps will be issued within five days of screening.

Required Documentation: Call or walk-in for information.

Fees: No fee for service.

Coverage Note: Monroe County.

Languages: Spanish.
