HUD Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program

• Provides HUD Section 8 rental payment assistance and home ownership options to low income households in New York State.

Rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Enables families having a person with disabilities to lease affordable private housing of their choice.
Assists families whose lack of adequate housing is a primary reason for the imminent placement of the family’s child(ren) in out-of-home care, or in a delay in the discharge of the child(ren) to the family from out-of-home care.
Assists PHAs with relocation or replacement housing needs that result from the demolition, disposition, or mandatory conversion of public housing unit.

Eligibility: Must meet income guidelines which vary based on household composition.

Application Process: Closed to public- call for assistance, print application from website, applications available outside of office or request mailed application.

Required Documentation: Proof of residency at time of application.

Fees: No fee for services.
