• Lends audio and braille books on cartridge as well as audio and braille magazines and playback equipment, along with hard copy braille books and magazines, to residents of Upstate New York who are unable to use standard printed materials because of a visual, physical or reading disability.
• Provides books and magazines downloading services through BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download).

Eligibility: Be unable to read standard printed materials because of visual or physical disability (missing limb, severe arthritis, etc.) or have a diagnosed reading/learning disability. Must have an IOS, android or recent kindle device to download digital braille and audio books from BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download)

Required Documentation: Certification by reading specialist, professional staff at hospitals, institutions, social/case worker, counselor or doctor of medicine.
Fees: No fees for services or for mailing.
