Safety First Syringe Exchange

thru: ACR Health

Provides free access to sterile injection supplies, as well as free, safe disposal of used syringes. 

Offers naloxone (Narcan) training, safety planning, and risk reduction counseling. 

Linkage services (short-term case management) to HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), and STI testing, as well as help accessing care, substance use treatment, and social services.

Eligibility: Need for risk reduction supplies and/or individual sharps disposal.

Application Process: Walk-in to the office in Utica.

Required Documentation: None.

Fees: No fee for services.

Coverage Note: Cayuga, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and St Lawrence Counties.

Cultural Competency: Cultural competency, diversity, equity, and inclusion training for staff

Languages: Spanish, English- Staff provides service in language offered, Language line
