• Provides disaster assistance which is financial or direct assistance to individuals and families whose property has been damaged or destroyed as a result of a federally-declared disaster, and whose losses are not covered by insurance.
• Provides disaster survivor resources.
• Offers disaster recovery centers where individuals or families can go to for information about FEMA or other programs.
• Offers a service in which individuals who have been denied assistance the ability to appeal the decision. Appeals must be made in writing and sent by mail or fax within 60 days of receiving the letter.

Eligibility: Resident of area served.
Application Process: Call or apply online.
Required Documentation: Must have Social Security number, current and pre-disaster address, telephone number where you can be contacted, insurance information, total household annual income, routing and account number from your bank (only necessary if you want to have disaster assistance funds transferred directly into your bank account), and a description of your losses that were caused by the disaster.
Fees: No fee for services.
