Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and/or supplies for people whose fireplace flues need cleaning in order to eliminate a potential fire hazard. Included are programs that pay for or provide people who come into the home and do the cleaning and those that loan the brushes and other needed supplies which enable homeowners or renters to do the job themselves.
Low income or recipient of Temporary Assistance and/or SNAP benefits. Income guidelines apply. Furnace repair: home must be owner-occupied. For cooling assistance, must qualify for HEAP and also have at least one family member with a medical condition exacerbated by heat.
