Support Groups
thru: Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter
• Provides peer and professionally led gatherings meets bi-weekly or monthly for information and social support. Groups include:
- Persons living with Alzheimer's or other dementia.
- Caregivers, including LGBT caregivers.
- Care partners of those with younger onset.
- Early-stage Alzheimer's disease.
- Spanish-speaking caregivers.
• Offers online groups.
Eligibility: These support groups are intended for all affected by Alzheimer's or some form of dementia including, caregivers, friends, and family members. Advance screening is strongly recommended for early-stage support group admittance.
Application Process: To participate in the early-stage support group, call prior to attending.
Required Documentation: None.
Fees: No fee for services.
Coverage Note: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties.
Languages: Spanish group. 24 hour helpline has a translation service that includes more than 200 languages and dialects.
