Cool Sweep Program

thru: Rochester City Hall

Provides residents with opportunities to get relief from the heat with cooling sprays from fire hydrants, extended hours at City pools and spray parks.

The City of Rochester has announced Cool Sweep for June 17th - June 20th as it will be over 85 degrees. School District will implement its early dismissal schedule for grades PreK through 8 and cancel all after-school activities on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Schools are closed Wednesday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Students and residents can escape the heat in the City’s air-conditioned R-Centers and libraries or cool off in a spray park with the following schedule:

M 2:00PM-9:00PM, TU-F 9:00AM-9:00PM.

• Trenton and Pamela Jackson, 485 N. Clinton Ave.
• Thomas P. Ryan, 530 Webster Ave.

Students will be served lunches and snacks Tuesday through Friday, and dinner on Monday.

Spray Parks: M 10:00AM-9:00PM, TU-F 9:00AM-9:00PM.

• Troup Street Park, Troup Street and Van Auker Street (between Reynolds Street and Ford Street)

City Branch Libraries:During this Cool Sweep period, Arnett, Lincoln and Winton Branches will offer extended hours until 9 p.m. However, all libraries will be closed Wednesday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
